Kind words from families

What I like the most about Debbie's lessons is that it is personal and there is a lot of progress in each lesson. I have seen myself improve significantly when it comes to playing cello.

— Jacob (high school student)

Debbie is everything you could want in a music instructor! She's extremely talented, kind, flexible, professional, and really great with our son. We have consistently seen so much musical skill and confidence growth in our son throughout the nearly 3 years we have been with Debbie. She makes cello fun (for a teenager even!) and solicits feedback from the students on what they're interested in. I could not recommend her enough. If you need a cello instructor, look no further!

— Everett (parent)

Ms. Debbie helped my 10-year old daughter prepare for her middle school orchestra audition. We only had a few lessons before the audition, but she was patient and gave clear instructions. The tips and corrections she gave to my daughter helped her performance tremendously, and my daughter made it into the orchestra! She was great!

Teaching Philosophy

Fundamentals

Lee emphasizes mastering the basics, focusing on posture, hand positioning, and bow exercises to build tone, control, and comfort.
Scales and études improve instrument familiarity and technique.

Performance Driven

Lee Silao helps students overcome technical challenges and performance anxiety, providing regular assessments and feedback to guide steady progress. Participating in competitions, auditions, and performances are highly recommended.

Community Minded

At Lee Silao’s studio, students develop not only as soloists but also as collaborative musicians. Playing with peers in ensemble settings fosters essential skills in listening, balance, and communication — qualities that are just as important as individual performance.
